M.O.R.E

What is the M.O.R.E. ministry?
Military OutReach and Encouragement or M.O.R.E. is a group of concerned Christians who show love and encourage our men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces and others are who are deployed to foreign countries.
We strive to provide spiritual and emotional support to those who have been called away from their homes, families, churches, and sometimes, jobs.
We seek to accomplish our goals through individual prayer for each person (by name), regular correspondence (i.e. weekly cards and letters), and sound biblical teaching via our publication, The Military Messenger.
We provide Bibles and study resources in the form of a Spiritual Power Kit (SPK). This packet includes a camoflauge-covered New Testament (NIV) with Psalms and Proverbs, Basic Bible References card, World Bible School (WBS) Introduction Lesson, tracts about the Lord’s church: “Introducing the Church of Christ” and “Neither Catholic, Protestant, Nor Jew”; also included is the plan of salvation and related bookmarks.
How can I participate in M.O.R.E.?
M.O.R.E. meets every Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 at the Mayfair church of Christ building in Room 203 (same room as World Bible School). Each gathering begins with administrative announcements, followed by prayer for each warfighter and their family. Afterwards we share news from notes received from our servicemen and women and write cards or letters and socialize. We also meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 to write cards (no formal meeting).
You are welcome to drop in and write a card or note to one or more military personnel(we provide cards, envelopes, labels and postage).
One of our church leaders will be present to offer spiritual guidance and prayer. Please drop in when you have the opportunity.
How can I let M.O.R.E. know of a military man or woman that I want prayed for or written to?
Simply email us at with their name, address, and any information you think might help us encourage them.
If you are interested in being part of the M.O.R.E. team, you are cordially welcome to visit us.
Please let us know if there is a change in address or status of your loved one or friend.
M.O.R.E. Motto: “Serving to Train and Training to Serve”
“… To prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith… and become mature...” (Ephesians 4:11ff).
M.O.R.E. Mission:
...to share the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world via the U.S. military and inspire men and women to faithful living.
M.O.R.E. History:
M.O.R.E. began in 1980 in Denver, Colorado at the Bear Valley church of Christ. Its aim was to provide spiritual training within the U.S. military through sound gospel preachers and Bible teachers.
In the ensuing years until 2003, bibical instruction was provided to overseas military congregations in England, Germany, Japan, and Korea. Then, in 2003, the Mayfair church adopted the acronym M.O.R.E. for its new military ministry.
Since its inception, countless American soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, coast guardsmen plus numerous civilian contractors have been written to, prayed for, and encouraged during two simultaneous wars: Operations Iraqi Freedom (OEF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OIF) in Afghanistan.
Spiritual Power Kit (SPK):
In addition to our writing ministry (i.e. weekly cards/letters of encouragement and The Military Messenger publication), we also provide Bible study resources to our troops in the form of our Spiritual Power Kit. This handy packet includes a camouflage-covered New Testament (NIV) including Psalms and Proverbs, World Bible School (WBS) Introduction Lesson, Plan of Salvation card, Basic Bible Reference card, tracts “Introducing the Church of Christ” and “Neither Catholic, Protestant NOR Jew”, and bookmark, “The American Warfighter.”
If you would like us to send an SPK to your friend or loved one in the military, please contact us at .
