Missions
The backbone of Mayfair’s Youth Ministry has historically been its mission efforts. It’s our goal to offer age appropriate missions to our teens that will lead them into a lifelong commitment to service. God has blessed us with a fantastic summer of missions & service in 2008. We look forward to being involved in mission trips ranging from Childhaven in Cullman for our 7th graders, Nashville Work Camp for our 8th & 9th graders to New Orleans & Houston, TX for our Sr. High. Our stair step mission program is designed to offer all our teens age appropriate expreiences in missions. We are privileged to have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
We always want to have a heart & attitude like Isaiah that says, “Here I am, send me.” This year, we are excited about the following opportunities to serve.
New Orleans March 15-19, the Mayfair Youth Group went to New Orleans to assist in the recovery efforts. People in New Orleans & the surrounding areas are still dealing with the effects of Katrina. Click here to see photos from this amazing mission trip!
Houston, TX July 12-18, the Mayfair Youth Group will once again have the privilege of traveling to Houston, TX to work with the Impact Church of Christ! This Mission trip is for anyone currently in grades 8-12. At the Impact Church of Christ we’ll have the chance to work with approx. 200 inner-city children. We’ll have the wonderful opportunity to spend one week sharing the love of Jesus with these precious children. We’ll also have unique opportunities around the Houston community to serve. Childhaven Date: TBD. The Mayfair Youth Group is looking forward to returning to Cullman, AL to work with this orphanage which is home to children of all ages. This trip is designed for our current 67th grade students. Each day we’ll serve Childhaven through different work projects. In the afternoons & evenings we’ll have games & activities for the children & nightly devotionals. You can learn more about Childhaven from their website: http://www.childhaven.com.
Nashville Workcamp June 1-7, the Mayfair Youth Group will be headed to Nashville to paint houses for free! 
Every year this trip is a highlight for our youth group as we become the hands & feet of Jesus & minister in a powerful way to those who are in need. We get to do for others what they can’t do for themselves. In so doing, we exemplify what Jesus has done for us. This trip is for our current 7th grade students.
