In Our Backyard: Community Outreach
We believe Mayfair is called to be a missional community—a body of believers living out the Gospel within its own context. While we take the Great Commission Seriously to “ go into all the world”, we believe we’re called to be a local contextualization of the Good News by reaching out right here in our own backyard.
To the left, you’ll find some links describing just a few of Mayfair’s ministries aimed at impacting the Tennessee Valley. The Inner City Church of Christ is a beacon of light to Huntsville’s inner city community. Countless young children have experienced the unconditional love of Christ through programs like Agape and Childhaven. Our jail ministry is a mission effort to provide hope and encouragement to local inmates. Dr. Gary Bradley’s Abundant Living television program is a conduit for sharing the Good News throughout North Alabama. Mayfair’s Child Development Center provides quality childcare for children in our community, while Mayfair Towers meets the needs of our community’s senior adults, completing the circle of care for people of all ages and needs.
The undergirding principle behind each of these ministries is a desire to live into our calling to be salt and light in the world (Matthew 5:13-16). Mayfair’s call to be a “missionary” community begins here in Huntsville. To God be the glory!
