Ghana, West Africa | Jerry Reynolds
Ghana, West Africa
Ghana, West Africa continues to be one of the world’s most receptive nations. This is due in part to the very caring nature of the people and their respect for authority. This nation of about 20 million people have an eager desire to learn – about the world, about other nations, about nature and about God and His Word – the Bible.
In Yendi, a large city in the Northern Region, the church is growing very well. Preachers are being trained and they are spreading the gospel, even as they learn. One of the very first preachers there is John Konbunja. John is a tireless worker and spends much of his time training men there to preach. He has a church building near his own dwelling and has invited men from churches in the area to come for two days of intensive training every other week. He has now 83 who attend his “school!” The job is a big one so he has two preachers from Kumasi come up to help with the classes. These young preachers are “on fire” for the Lord.
This kind of work goes on all over Ghana. They now have well over 2,000 churches.
