Mayfair Kids Internship - 2027

Mayfair Kids Internship - Summer 2027 The kids ministry internship at Mayfair Church of Christ is designed to offer high school and college students an opportunity to work with the kids ministry at a large, active congregation within a multi-staff setting. Because we view the intern experience as a serious effort in training future church leaders, Mayfair attempts to take a professional approach to the development of servant leaders. We see the kids ministry intern as a student, an apprentice, and a staff member with specific responsibilities and training opportunities. The application for the kids ministry internship is presented below. Before filling out this application, please read the description of what being a kids intern at Mayfair entails. How does it work? Each summer, four college students (usually two guys and two girls) are selected to be interns for the Mayfair Kids Ministry. These interns work closely with our kids ministry staff which includes Logan Jaks, Kim Darwin, Renee Graham, and Rachel Gross as well as Roni Armstrong and Lauren Mitchell, the Administrative Assistants in organizing and coordinating the activities for the summer. The interns help lead Vacation Bible School, kids camp, preschool events, and service projects. Also, a portion of the intern's weekly time will be spent with our kids and their families in developing and strengthening relationships. Interns are responsible for leading preschool and elementary Celebration Station, teaching various Sunday morning Bible classes and a combined Elementary Wednesday night Bible class. The internship lasts for about 10 weeks beginning May 12 and ending July 26. Each intern will be provided housing by staying with a Mayfair family. Application Process: If you are interested in being an intern at Mayfair, please fill out the application below and submit it by Sunday, November 30th, 2025 at the latest. Also, please email a resume and picture of yourself to kids@mayfair.org as well as any other material you feel is relevant. All applications will be reviewed by the kids ministry staff and the Mayfair Kids Intern Selection Committee, which is comprised of kids ministry volunteers, coordinators, and deacons. Several applicants will be invited to interview with the staff and committee in person at Mayfair or virtually, likely via Zoom. The committee will review the applications, interviews, personal recommendations and all other information to decide on a recommendation for the intern selections. These recommendations will be presented to the Mayfair Elders who will then make the final selections. The applicants selected will be notified and given up to 24 hours to consider and pray about their decision before responding. Questions? If you have any questions about the application, selection process or internship at Mayfair, feel free to email the Mayfair Kids Team at kids@mayfair.org. We appreciate your consideration and are looking forward to an uplifting and spiritual summer for the kids in our community.Apply Now!

A place for Every Child

Our Ministry Areas

At Mayfair Kids, we offer safe, engaging, and age-specific programming designed to meet children right where they are. From babies and toddlers to preschoolers and elementary students, each environment is thoughtfully created to help kids feel welcomed, build friendships, and learn about God in ways they can understand.

Explore the ministry areas below to learn more about the programs and experiences available for your child.

  • Baby & Toddler Ministry

A safe and loving place for your littlest ones

Our Baby & Toddler Ministry serves children from approximately 6 months old—or once they are sitting independently—through 1 year of age. Through loving care, simple Bible teaching, upbeat songs, and age-appropriate activities, we begin introducing children to God, His creation, and the love of Jesus.

Nursery is available during Sunday morning worship, followed by age-specific Bible classes. In most cases, children remain in the same classroom for both nursery and Bible class, helping make the morning more comfortable and consistent. Families with younger babies are also welcome to use our Unattended Baby Room, where parents can remain with their child while watching the worship service.

Our goal is for every baby and toddler to feel safe, loved, and happy to come to church—and for every parent to feel confident that their child is receiving attentive, compassionate care.

  • Preschool Ministry

Helping young children discover that God made them and loves them

Our Preschool Ministry serves children ages 2 through 5 with active, engaging experiences designed especially for the way preschoolers learn. Through Bible stories, music, movement, hands-on activities, and caring relationships, children begin building a strong foundation of faith while learning that God loves them and that church is a joyful place to be.

On Sunday mornings, preschoolers may participate in Celebration Station, our optional, age-appropriate worship experience offered during the sermon. Separate Celebration Station environments are available for 2-year-olds and for children ages 3–4. Preschool Bible classes are also offered on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

We want every preschooler to feel loved, secure, and excited to learn about Jesus while making friends and becoming more comfortable in a classroom setting.

  • Elementary

Helping kids build a faith of their own

Our Elementary Ministry serves children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. We believe kids are fully capable of knowing God, understanding His Word, and developing a meaningful relationship with Jesus. Our goal is to partner with families as children grow in biblical knowledge, learn to worship, ask honest questions, build friendships, and discover how to live out their faith.

Children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade may attend Celebration Station, an engaging worship experience offered during the sermon on Sunday mornings. All elementary children participate in age-appropriate Bible classes on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Throughout the year, kids also have opportunities to participate in worship, service projects, Bible memory programs, leadership training, family events, VBS, Kids Camp, and other special activities.

Whether your family is new to church or looking for a place to grow, we want every child to feel welcomed, known, and encouraged as they learn to trust in and follow Jesus.
